Fourth of July 2015

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! Our weekend started a little early, which was super nice! My husband took off Wed-Fri and we headed to West Virginia for the day on Wednesday to visit my in-laws and my brother-in-law and his family. Will recently learned how to ride a two wheeled bike without training wheels, so he was so excited to try out this new ride at my in-laws.

Harper zoomed up and down the road in her three wheeler.

Cousin time! Cousin V. is 7 and cousin E. is 5 (just a few weeks younger than Will). In December, we will have a third cousin (from this family)!

On Thursday, we headed to Durham, North Carolina to visit my brother and sister-in-law for the holiday weekend. We always really enjoy visiting them! They are the best hosts and are wonderful with our kiddos. Here’s a brief glimpse of our adventures in NC!

Park time after enjoying some yummy Italian food. We checked out several different parks throughout the weekend.
We headed to Raleigh to a fun children’s museum, full of all kinds of creepy crawlies.
The Durham Farmer’s Market is always fun, and since it was the 4th, we received free popsicles and the fire truck was there to spray water at the kiddos. Quite fun!

Jump time! I had always wanted to check out one of these bouncing/trampoline places, so we decided to go to one on Saturday. It was really hot out, so being inside in a cool gym was great. All of us (grown ups and kiddos alike) had a great time!

Then we had some relaxing time at my brother’s house, painting Harper’s piggies and getting some new pirate and shark tattoos (along with some fun, stick-on mustaches!).

We headed to their friends’ house for a 4th of July picnic and walked downtown Durham to watch the fireworks.
We ended the trip by eating at one of our favorite donut places, Rise, before driving home on Sunday.
We had a blast! It’s been the third year in a row that we’ve headed to NC for the 4th of July. I love the tradition and hope to continue it:)
